What we mean by Prophetic Medicine?

Praise be to Allah, and prayers and blessings upon His Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

The Prophet (PBUH) said that “there is no disease for which there is no remedy”

Prophetic Medicine is derived from the Noble Qur’an and the honorable Sunnah of the Prophet.

  • The medical directions of the Prophet were inclusive of all aspects of a person’s healthy life, starting with deciding the command to take medication, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said that “Take Medicine, there is no disease for which there is no remedy”
  • Benefiting from the Prophet’s guidance in the verses and hadiths that have been mentioned about healing and health benefits since 1444
  • Focusing on preventive medicine derived from the Qur'an and Sunnah to improve human health and quality and prevent diseases.
  • The most important of which is the prohibition of environmental pollution, for example, water pollution.
  • Attention to the hygiene and the general health of the individual and the community, and it has many examples, including the urge to use tooth brushes (Miswak).
  • The early Muslim scholars benefited from the instruction in establishing the scientific evidence of  medicine, surgery and pharmacology.
  • The Noble Qur’an command to eat the good food provided for us and give grateful to Allah.
  • Modern science has proven the relationship between diseases and food
  • The importance of honey is stressed in Qur’an and in modern medicine more than 15,000 international research papers have been published in reputable medical journals, in improving Quality of life, anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-infective, stomach ulcer and other benefits
  • The importance of palm dates as good food, an antioxidant, reducing infection and inflammation has a great benefit in protecting the heart, kidneys, liver and other complications of treatment and disease and is useful for diabetics .
  • Among the various examples of the Prophet’s guidance are of great importance in preventing diseases and improving the quality of life of patients, such as whole grains, olive oil, camel products, pumpkin, pomegranate, black seed, Indian premium, Cupping which more than 2248 publication and others.
  • The Prophetic Medicine Approach: Taking modern treatment and adding what was mentioned in the Prophet’s guidance is supported by scientific research as a holistic and complementary treatment and not an alternative, to improve the patient’s quality of life, reduce complications of treatment and disease, and focus on preventive medicine.
  • Islam encourages science and scientific research to alleviate and treat diseases, and Muslim doctors were the first to establish evidence-based medicine, and there is still a need for a lot of efforts and scientific research and the provision of prophetic recommendations to alleviate human suffering, prevent diseases and improve the quality of life. The modern world has turned to research and benefit from the natural bounties that Allah has made for humanity.
  • We ask Allah to increase useful knowledge and to benefit us and the humanity.
